Open Atrium as a platform for promoting web 2.0
The proposed session will show how, through the use of Open Atrium 1.0-beta10 is possible to create a platform for the widespread of Web 2.0 tools applied to adult training and vocational education.
We will start with a real case of use, the European project SVEA (http://www.svea-project.eu/), and then we will show the modules and features used to support students in the overall management of their learning activities .
In particular, the SVEA platform consists of a series of features that are based in part on the modules and features already present in the default package: Notebook Case Tracker, Blog, Calendar, and Shoutbox, while others have been suitably tailored or found on the Drupal.org site.
In particular, the features we added were:
* Bookmark: allows you to collect and share external links.
* My List: a simple "shopping list" that allows users to prioritize their "TO DO".
* Private messaging system: allows users to send private messages to other members of the platform
* Document repository allows you to save documents in different formats and browse through a custom file repository. It is also possible to assign access permissions to other users.
During the presentation we will also highlight the difficulties that a beginner may encounter during the customization of some contrib modules which are necessary to create a collaborative environment based on OA (FileDepot, CKeditor, Social Network, Friends Flag).
